Researchers from universities, national laboratories, and industry partners with verifiable institutional affiliation may apply for instrument access.
Usage Procedures
A clear, step-by-step guide for reserving and using :site instrumentation.
:site instrumentation is open to all qualified :site members and external researchers on a fair-access basis. The five-step procedure below applies to all equipment listed on the Reservation page.
FIVE-STEP PROCEDURE

REGISTER AS A USER
Create your :site Facilities account.
Sign up with your institutional email. Internal users and external users (other universities, national labs, industry) are reviewed and approved within 1 business day.

SUBMIT APPLICATION
Reserve a time slot on the Reservation page.
Select the equipment, choose an open slot on the schedule, and complete the application form (sample type, expected analysis, contact). First-time users may need a brief consult.

APPROVAL & PRE-CHECK
Wait for staff approval and prepare your sample.
The instrument staff reviews your application and confirms within 24 hours. Sample prep guidelines (size, purity, hazard) are sent automatically — please review carefully.

ON-SITE USE
Visit :site for measurement or analysis.
Follow the instrument-specific safety and operating protocol. Self-use users must complete required training (see Education / Seminars). Analyses request users hand off the sample.

DATA & BILLING
Receive results, settle the user fee, and acknowledge :site.
Data is delivered to your account within the specified turnaround time. Users are kindly requested to acknowledge :site instrumentation in any resulting publication.
User Fee Schedule
Fees are charged per hour or per sample, depending on the instrument. Internal :site users receive a discounted rate. Detailed per-instrument pricing is available on each equipment page.

02. SAMPLE HANDLING
Safety and shipping
All samples must be accompanied by an MSDS. Hazardous, biohazardous, or radioactive materials require additional approval. Shipping at user's expense.
03. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Citing :site
Publications using :site instrumentation should include the standard :site acknowledgement text. We kindly request a copy of the published paper.
